Industrial Systems Institute (ISI)
The ISI, a public research institute founded in 1998 in Patras, Western Greece, operates within the Patras Science Park. Since 2003, ISI has been part of the “Athena” Research Center, under the G.S.R.T. Within the ENVELOPE project, ISI aims to leverage its knowledge to publish papers in academic journals and conferences based on trials, KPIs, and lessons learned. ISI collaborates with SMEs and industrial partners to promote project achievements. It leads activities related to the Data Management Plan, Use Cases’ Refinement and Specifications, and Large-scale Technical Evaluations, while contributing to various project tasks.
University of Cyprus (UCY)
The University of Cyprus (UCY) is a public research university located in Nicosia, the capital city of Cyprus. It was established in 1989 and is the oldest and largest institution of higher education in Cyprus. The university is committed to research excellence and has a number of research centers and institutes, as well as collaborations with international research organizations. Its research areas cover a wide range of disciplines, including energy, environment, health, and social sciences. UCY is participating in SONIC through SREC (Systems Security Research in Cyprus), a research group established in the Computer Science department with expertise in systems security and privacy. UCY leads WP2 and takes cares the scientific coordination of the project.
IMDEA Software Institute (IMDEA)
The IMDEA Software Institute is an independent research centre funded by the Regional Government of Madrid (Comunidad de Madrid) under the IMDEA (Madrid Institutes for Advanced Studies) network, an initiative promoting excellence in research across seven strategic areas: water, food, energy, materials, nanoscience, networks, and software. The Institute’s mission is to develop the foundations, techniques, and tools needed to build high-quality, sophisticated software systems in a cost-effective and reliable manner. The IMDEA Software Institute is home to more than 70 researchers from around the world, supported by a team of 18 administrative and technical staff. According to CSRankings the Institute, ranked 14th in Europe, is the first Spanish research institution in the key areas of Computer Security, Programming Languages, and Cryptography. IMDEA Software was recently awarded the prestigious María de Maeztu seal of excellence, the highest recognition granted by the Spanish government for excellence in research.

In SONIC, AEGIS leads Task 3.3 on post-incident investigation strategies. It also contributes IntelliCloak, a MISP-based Cyber Threat Intelligence solution enhancing automation, integration, and data quality, with seamless SIEM/SOAR/NDR integration, SSO support, and advanced taxonomies to reduce alert fatigue. AEGIS also provides the Forensics Visualization Toolkit (FVT) for interactive post-incident analysis and threat hunting.

UBITECH (UBI) is a leading, highly innovative cybersecurity SME, and software house, established to deliver cutting-edge intelligent technical solutions and consulting services to businesses, organizations, and government. UBITECH enables secure, efficient, and effective access to and communication with various heterogeneous information resources and services, anytime and anywhere. Established in 2005, UBITECH LIMITED is the youngest member of the UBITECH Group, initially focusing on the Balkan market. It has acquired several EC and national grants for novel R&D initiatives. The UBITECH Group has since expanded internationally, with subsidiaries, representation offices, business partners, and affiliated companies in Limassol, Cyprus (UBITECH LTD) and Madrid, Spain (Business Development Office), targeting Spanish-speaking markets in Central and Latin America.

Cymph OÜ (CYMPH) is an SME based in Estonia, focused on operationalising cybersecurity through collaborative, standards-based incident response and automation. Cymph specialises in transforming fragmented security practices into structured, executable cyber processes using open standards like CACAO. The company develops a vendor-agnostic playbook platform that connects SOCs, CERTs, and organisations through shared workflows, enabling consistent response, cross-team collaboration, and automation readiness. Cymph’s work spans incident response orchestration, framework-driven gap analysis (MITRE ATT&CK, D3FEND, ISO 27001), asset-informed TTP modelling, playbook lifecycle management, AI-power playbook creation, conversion and recommendations. Through its Cymph Labs R&D division, the company actively participates in EU-funded innovation projects and validation activities, delivering tooling and methodologies that support scalable cross-border, cyber defence capabilities.
