SONIC Virtual Kick-off Meeting Marks the Official Start
The SONIC (“Security Oriented Nexus for Intelligent Commodity solutions marketplace”) project officially set its wheels in motion with a successful Virtual Kick-off Meeting (KoM) held on January 12, 2026.
As a 36-month initiative funded by the European Union’s Digital Europe Programme, SONIC aims to redefine cyber resilience. This initial virtual gathering brought together all 11 consortium partners to align on the project’s strategic vision and set the groundwork for the upcoming months.
Under the coordination of ISI and Prof. Sotiris Ioannidis, the partners discussed the foundational work plan and the primary objectives of the project. SONIC is dedicated to delivering advanced cybersecurity tools—leveraging AI and Machine Learning—to enhance threat intelligence and incident response across the EU.
This virtual KoM served as the perfect prelude to the physical meeting in Athens, ensuring a synchronized and proactive start for the entire consortium.
